Artomatic 2012 Artwork, Part Six:

I decided to make a post about some of the darker art I've found so far at Artomatic in honor of Zombie Prom being tonight (6/9/12)!

Henrik Sundqvist's work is some of my favorite at Artomatic. With a birthday that is nearly Halloween and dad who is a doctor it's no secret I'm into anatomy and skeletons. Not only does Henrik's artwork look awesome the frames are very interesting. I can't wait to check more his work out online, I was so intrigued by what I've seen at Artomatic!

Kirsty Little's work is versatile yet cohesive. I found myself really interested in the different mediums she uses.

Ashley Linder's Apocalypse installation is pretty interesting!

Cynthia Sheppard's Illustrations are pretty awesome! Not only zombies, Cynthia has vampires and other dark creatures in her Artomatic space!

I love texture work especially in paintings so Andrei Trach's work caught my eye. Take a look at the description below!

Zombie Prom!:

Artomatic is letting me pretty much take the reins on running Zombie Prom this year! I'm so excited! So far there is a lot of fun stuff planned for it and some great prizes for the costume contest! It is an official Artomatic event.

The lovely ladies from MICA have joined Zombie Prom and will be doing zombie burlesque! Should be a great show! There will be no nudity, just good old fashioned fun. The official Artomatic listing can be found here: http://artomatic.org/events?tid=All&keys=zombie&date_filter[value][date]=2012-05-07  But please feel free to repost the flyer that I and the MICA troupes have made, as well as the Facebook event link at: https://www.facebook.com/events/233253106776258/

But wait, there's more! When all the braaaains at Artomatic are gone arrive in full zombie makeup/costume and get into Spellbound DC, DC's Premier Goth Club for FREE!

Spellbound's resident Tarot reader will be available in the back corner table (look for the candles). For cash or a Guinness...he waits patiently to explain what the future may have in store for you and there will be a great mix of music from multiple DJs all night long. Bring your friends, drink on the cheap and dance the night away! Spellbound is located at 1823 L Street NW Wash, DC (easily metro accessible from Artomatic) Official doors 9pm, Free in costume, $7 if not, 21+ with proper ID.

Check out Spellbound's Facebook Event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/468380643175684/

Also, many thanks to John Grunwell the text on the Zombie Haiku Wall on the first floor looks amazing. I hope a lot of people will leave zombie haikus!
